A Burgundy Fall Floral Themed Girl’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash

My passion is capturing photographs of heartfelt moments for families to savor forever as keepsake memories. Whenever I'm not helping your family, you can find me loving on my own. Camping trips, boba tea, and card games are our favorite ways to connect!

Fall is one of my favorite photography seasons with the gorgeous leaf color and cooler temps, but it can be just as beautiful inside the studio with jewel tones and fall floral motifs!

Isabelle’s 1st birthday cake smash pulled together perfectly, as we envisioned a minimalist design with simple fall floral accents and deep jeweled burgundies. I had originally wanted paper flowers for the backdrop but when they arrived from Amazon, they were mauve color… yeah that wasn’t going to work. I hopped on over to Rubia’s Flower Market to look at their fall selection of flowers and was in luck! Fresh flowers it would be. The garland was purchased at Hobby Lobby and next time I think I will purchase two of them to make it longer.

Her session was held in my downtown studio in Lafayette, Indiana and all cake smash sessions include family photos, individuals of baby and sibling shots as well.

Isabelle didn’t end up being enthralled with her cake like we had hoped and actually didn’t want anything to do with the smashing part, but we still got some of the cutest photos! I’ve actually been happy with every single cake smash session regardless if baby was into to the smash or not because each and every little one has been soo stinkin cute, it hasn’t really mattered how much frosting was on their face!

Hi Kelly, This is such an adorable pic. Love the minimalist set so much; it keeps the focus on the baby. Can you tell me where you purchased the number 1 prop. The quality looks great and I haven’t had any luck searching for it.
