For any outdoor session, the weather is ALWAYS a factor. I want my clients to have the best weather possible for their sessions. Sometimes that means rescheduling, but sometimes that means taking a risk to get something extraordinary.
For the Brundidge family’s session last fall, Jennifer and I were texting back and forth practically every hour, leading up to the session, wondering if we should reschedule due to the crazy weather. We eventually decided to just go for it!
During the session, rain clouds threatened, a drizzle sprinkled down, then bam! A rainbow appeared, followed by the most epic cotton candy sunset you’ve ever seen. And no, I didn’t edit the color of the sky even one little bit!
I’m so glad we stuck with it, because the final result of their parking garage family photos was pure magic! Jennifer’s girls, little bundles of energy and sunshine, took the parking garage by storm on some skateboards. We captured moments of laughter, dancing, and pure family connection as they soaked in the stunning city view bathed in the golden glow of the sunset.

This session is a perfect example of how unexpected locations can turn into something extraordinary. A parking garage, kind of a taken-for-granted part of our urban landscapes, can become a playground for fun, laughter, and exploration together as a family. Add a stunning view of the city and a sunset? Well, now we just have fairytale magic for a family photoshoot.
