Did you know that your outfit colors can impact the whole mood and vibe of your photos?
As you can tell from my portfolio, my bread and butter is capturing memories that give off warm and cozy vibes. That’s why I recommend muted colors and subtle patterns. So, whenever clients show up to a session with dark shades like black and navy blue, I’ll admit, my heart sinks a bit. Why? ‘Cause those dark tones don’t quite bring out those warm feelings like the softer, more subtle hues do. Sure, you may like the way you look in those darker outfit colors, but they change the overall “feel” of the photos as well as how YOU feel about them afterwards. While I can work some Photoshop magic at times, nailing the outfit colors from the start is one of my secrets to capturing the warm emotive atmosphere you’ve seen in posts of my other sessions.

I love, love, love how these turned out! Notice how the muted colors and subtle patterns, both in their home decor and in their complementary outfits, contribute to the loving tenderness of welcoming a new little girl into their family.
