It’s not everyday that I get to go to a beautiful farm and photograph the cutest family at golden hour! The Dickinsons brought their a-game though on this beautiful evening and the golden hour light behind them could not have been more perfect!
Curious how I choose a location? Usually I have a list of locations I work with in a particular season that are on public property or are on land that I have inquired about using for a photography session. The last thing I ever want is to get kicked off private property during a photo session (yes this happened once and I seriously think they had guns ready in their truck).
From time to time though, I shoot sessions on people’s personal property if they have open natural spaces or old barns such as the Dickinsons. Their farm is located just outside of Lafayette, Indiana amidst corn fields and was seriously the perfect setting for a session.
