A Summer Evening to remember

Everyone loves fall family pictures but gosh, summer family photo sessions might just be my most favorite! The warm breeze, wildflowers, tall grasses, summer maxi dresses and cute baby rompers are hard to beat!!

Kim contacted me a few months ago inquiring about a family session and after Covid-19 stay-at-home orders hit and then May’s rainy and cold weather, we had to push back the session by 1.5 months! We finally were able to have their session at the beginning of June in Carmel, Indiana and I’m so glad we waited for the warmer weather and the PERFECT evening! Kim and Jacob were complete naturals in front of the camera and their little girl Ayla could not have been more adorable!

We opted to have their session at Cool Creek Nature Park in Carmel, Indiana. It is the perfect location for summer family photos because the sun sets in just the right spot, and the tall natural grasses and wildflowers add beautiful texture and depth to the photos.

Kim’s gorgeous floral maxi dress is from the cutest shop in Indy called Magnolia Boutique. Kim highly recommends this little boutique and if you don’t live in Indy, they have a great online shop available as well.

Six Month Milestones

One of my all-time favorite ages for baby milestones is six to seven months of age when little ones can sit up on their own or assisted by a large wooden bowl. Ayla turned six months right before their session and while she was still getting the hang of sitting up, she did great in my wooden and vintage metal bowls that we placed near wildflower bushes. Are her photos not the most adorable thing you have seen?!

Ayla wasn’t so sure of me and kept pretty serious at first but once mom and dad started to tickle and play with her, she broke out the biggest smiles and she was the BEST baby to be up way past her bedtime!

Preserving Memories for you

Although the days can feel long when it comes to raising little ones, the years go by so fast and and you just don’t want to miss a moment. Thank you so much Kim and Jacob for allowing me the privilege of capturing these beautiful memories of your little family and of Ayla’s 6 month milestones.
