Statement outfits—outfits that really stand out or draw attention—are sneakily one of my favorite things about senior photos. Not all, but many of my seniors choose an outfit or piece for their senior photos that really stands outs in a way that “makes a statement” about who they are!
The reason I love statement outfits so much is that are one of the major ways that your senior photos become uniquely yours. Your oufit selections are an opportunity to express yourself and your identity! If you’re preparing for an upcoming senior session, consider including a statement outfit in your wardrobe lineup for your senior photos.
In today’s post, we’re showcasing the beautiful senior Scarlett! Just like most of my seniors, Scarlett’s recent session had several outfit changes. Her wardrobe line-up included mixed casual neutral colors with jeans, two different sundresses, and—as her statement outfit—this ADORABLE red maxi dress for a pop of color!
For all of my sessions, I provide styling assistance (as much or as little as desired) and I always plan the session so that client outfits coordinate well with the locations we’ve chosen. I knew when Scarlett selected this red dress, it would look SOO good against the backdrop of some of my favorite spots in downtown Lafayette. And just look how incredibly well the red and white striped awning at the historic McCord Candies shop (two doors down from our studio!) complements Scarlett’s dress! ❤️
I have SO SO much fun curating every senior session! Once a senior has booked their senior photos with me, we work together on outfit ideas. We text pictures and links back-and-forth until we land on the perfect combination of outfits. Meanwhile, I’m also brainstorming locations, poses, and a session flow, so that for each and every senior I can capture and celebrate them and all of their uniqueness. So much goes into each senior session because I want to make it uniquely you!
