Your first born has turned 1! You are elated that you kept a baby alive for a whole year, exhausted that you lost an average of 37 days of sleep, wonder what you did with all of your free time before baby, and sad that your baby is now a toddler.
Why does it often hurt so bad to watch your little one grow up? Of course you worry if they aren’t hitting the mark on the growth chart and yet you shed a little tear when they reach another milestone.
I think that our hearts weren’t meant to live outside of us. When we have kids, a piece of us goes with them… a big piece!! We can’t control and protect that part anymore. Our hearts continue to explode with love though and we couldn’t imagine it any other way.
This simple first birthday smash cake session with blush pinks, golds, gigantic balloons, peonies and tutus was the most fun and perfect way for Stella and her family to celebrate this important milestone. We laughed and had the best time in the studio as Stella delicately “picked” at her cake. Happy birthday sweet girl!
