It was such an honor to photograph Ari’s Bar Mitzvah last weekend at Temple Israel in West Lafayette! He wasn’t so sure about me when I first arrived but after giving me a tour of the Temple and a little background history into the Torah and different elements of the Bar Mitzvah, we were on to capturing fun moments with his family.
The service was so meaningful in a variety of different ways but particularly as Ari wore his grandfather’s tallit, who also served as a Rabbi at the Temple. The beautiful symbolism of the tallit being passed from one generation to the next and the rich history of the Torah being brought from Europe served to deepen the meaning of the moment as Ari read the scriptures in Hebrew.
All of the details for the day were so carefully thought through from the invitations to the napkins, cake and beyond. The flowers in the sanctuary and on the tables were beautifully arranged by Rubia Flower Market and the steel letters with balloons were the most unique and fun thing I have seen, thanks to Banzi out of Indianapolis. Juniper Spoon did an amazing job catering the most unique and delicious dishes and many of the ingredients were locally sourced. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of this important milestone!
